Luigi
Morgari

1857-1935

Luigi Morgari was a religious painter from Turin, whose work truly shaped the appearance of the territory. Coming from a well established, large family of artists, he turned painting into an industrial means of decoration for sacred and public buildings.

A precious inheritance

Luigi left us with a number of artworks belonging to his private life, depicting family members but also preparatory sketches and drawings. Letters and photographs have also been found among the collection of the painter’s heirs, documenting intimate situations and his daily practice.
